Selena Gomez recently went down the memory lane, revealing details about her Disney past. The pop star is currently promoting her upcoming show, Only Murders In The Building, and during one of the promotional interactions, Gomez discussed how she feels about her work on Wizards of Waverly Place after raising a comment about the network earlier this month. Gomez commented about “signing away” her life to them as a young actress, and not knowing what she was doing. Recently, in an interview the pop star clarified her point comments caused a stir, which she said jokingly.

Speaking to co-star Steve in a joint interview for Radio Times, the pop star said “I was looking for another show to do,” Gomez shared. “And by the way, I’m beyond proud of the work that I did with Disney as well. It kind of shaped who I am in a way,” she added.

Gomez comments were further defended by his co-star Steve Martin, who plays Charles in Only Murders in the Building. The legendary comedian said, “I have to jump in because I was there when Selena said that, and it was said in the most light-hearted, funny, jokey way.” Steve also mentioned that Selena’s words had been “interpreted” to make them sound worse than they were.

Further, Selena said that she had a good time with Disney, and that she was also treated well. The pop star is grateful that she got the chance to work with Disney at the age of 15. “I have to say, I’m very lucky. As a female in my position, I was taken care of, and I’ve only had lovely experiences, so I’m grateful for that,” the pop star added.

The series Only Murders in the Building will release on August 31, on Hulu.
