Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Mandar Chandwadkar, who essays the role of Bhide on the comedy show has been tested positive for COVID-19. Mandar’s onscreen wife Sonika Joshi who portrays Mrs Madhavi Bhide and his on-screen daughter Palak Sindhwani who potrayes Sonu were shooting with him just before he tested positive. 

The actor shared that, “My symptoms of cold had actually gone away but yesterday I could not smell camphor in puja, I felt I had lost the sense of smell and got myself tested. As my reports came positive, I informed the unit of ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ and also asked Sonalika and Palak to get themselves tested. Adding further he mentioned, “I am taking every possible care, I am home quarantine, and I am keeping a track on my oxygen levels in every three hours as I have an oximeter at home. But overall, I am fine. I am reading books, watching a lot of Television. 

Earlier, Mayur Vakani who portrays the character of Sunderlal in the show was tested COVID-19 positive and was hospitalized in Ahmedabad. The actor was tested positive after he shot for a few episodes of Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
