As the reviews pour in, one viewer states, “Taj is a bingeworthy historical fiction series. Decent performances by younger cast who manage to hold their own against always impressive #NaseeruddinShah.”

The show has been highly ranked, it’s being called a masterpiece. It’s a visual treat. Anand Neelakantan, who contributed to the research of the show, adds, “History itself has a lot of layers. This is a show made for entertainment. We have drawn from various sources of history and set it up as storytellers. We have packaged it in an entertaining fashion. That is the only way you can do a drama like this.”

The story starts with young Akbar’s conquest of Fort of Chittor and the massacre of men, women and children mercilessly. Disturbed by this act of bloodshed, he visits Shaikh Salim Chisti and expresses his concerns about having no children. The story progresses and the drama, chaos, treachery, politics and romance unfurl.

The royalty of Mughals is the center of attraction of the show and this 10 episode series is a good watch.
