There are spoilers ahead for Legacies’ penultimate episode, “This Can Only End in Blood,” on The CW.

Legacies is coming to an end as the third and final program in The Vampire Diaries’ TV world, but viewers didn’t have to wait until next week’s series finale to watch Hope and the Super Squad take on Ken. After a slew of deaths, some lucky resurrections thanks to Landon in Limbo, and Ken’s death, the showdown took place. So, now that the major struggle appears to be over, what’s next? Klaus will, according to Joseph Morgan of The Originals, make a long-awaited and surprising entrance.

On Instagram Live, Joseph Morgan, who portrayed Klaus Mikaelson on The Vampire Diaries and subsequently The Originals, revealed the news. Although the video was not stored on the social networking platform, fans were quick to notice his remark concerning Legacies’ series conclusion, and one of them published it on Twitter. Morgan stated, “Right now, a number of things.” In the last episode of Legacies, you will meet Klaus once again. It was only for a brief moment. And I’ll tell you something else – and I know this will irritate a lot of you – this was never about a ship for me or Klaus. It’s all about the family here. Family is a source of strength. This story revolves on a man and his daughter. Their connection.

That’s all there is to it! Klaus will return in Legacies’ series finale, but it appears that viewers won’t see much of him, as Joseph Morgan stated that he will arrive for “a short moment” and “that’s all.” Klaus didn’t appear in the trailer that ran after the series’ penultimate episode, so it’s likely that the program just has a tiny amount of footage of him and wants to keep everything for the big revelation… or that Joseph Morgan revealed the surprise early.

In any case, I believe it’s safe to assume that following Hope and Aurora’s interaction before Aurora’s death in “This Can Only End in Blood,” no matter how long Klaus is in the finale, it’ll be quite upsetting. Shippers should not hold out hope that his arrival will be associated with romance. Klaus is, of course, dead, so the major question now is how he’ll come back. Morgan previously stated that he was not interested in repeating the character since Klaus had a “full tale” and “beginning to finish” in The Originals, thus whatever occurs is more likely to assist Hope’s plot than to disrupt Klaus’ ashes.
