The highly successful Korean pop stars have also been designated worldwide ambassadors for the mobile game.

Garena, an online games developer and publisher, has announced a new collaboration with BTS, a prominent Korean pop group, for its popular mobile battle royale game Garena Free Fire.

In July 2021, BTS was chosen a worldwide ambassador for the game, which had surpassed 1 billion downloads on the Google Play store alone. The relationship also involves a March in-game event in which the band will “join the universe of Free Fire,” though no specifics on that event have been released.

In a press release, Harold Teo, a producer at Garena who worked on Free Fire, said, “We are incredibly thrilled to welcome BTS as our next brand ambassador.” “Incorporating BTS into the Free Fire environment will provide our players with more opportunities to interact with the game, network with the community, and try new things.”

BTS is the most recent cooperation with Garena for the game, following Ubisoft and Assassin’s Creed, Capcom and Street Fighter, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Garena Free Fire is a free-to-play mobile battle royale game available on iOS and Android in which 50 players compete in 10-minute bouts to be the last one standing. Garena Free Fire Max, a newer version with improved visuals, is also available for download.
