The recently launched &TV’s ‘ATAL’ features the child actor Vyom Thakkar essaying the role of young Atal, depicting the formative years of one of India’s most prominent Prime Ministers, the late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Chosen amongst 300+ aspirants, Vyom has received rave reviews for his performance since the show premiered on Dec 5th, 2023. His commitment to his role goes beyond the ordinary, from actively seeking and absorbing various nuisances of the personality to practising scenes and lines to ace the character. The young actor is thrilled and equally curious to know more and more about the leader. With the ‘Main Atal Hoon’ featuring the exceptionally talented Pankaj Tripathi, premiering on Jan 19th in Cinemas, an excited Vyom, accompanied by his parents, watched the first screening.

Bursting with joy, Vyom eagerly shared, “I went with my parents to see the movie ‘Main Atal Hoon’, and it was so much fun! While playing young Atal in the &TV show ‘Atal,’ I learned much about his formative years and life before we started shooting for the show. And there is always something new to discover as we shoot for our episodes. Our research team shared fascinating insights into Atal Ji’s childhood story that many people are not aware of while his political journey is in the public domain, and everyone knows about it. Even my parents told me about interesting facts and stories about him. Our show intends to narrate the untold stories of his formative years.” Adding further, Vyom said, “From the time I heard about the movie being made on the extraordinary life and political journey of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, I was keen to watch it. This way, I could learn more about Atal Ji and his amazing contributions. The movie gave me valuable insights into the leader’s journey, and I was thrilled to see my favourite actor, Pankaj Tripathi Sir, essaying Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s role. I am a big fan of Pankaj Tripathi Ji and want to meet him in person someday. He is an amazing actor, and I enjoy watching his movies and shows. Seeing him onscreen as the leader, ‘Atal’, was exciting, and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I feel Atal Ji’s life story is quite inspiring. As a kid, it has made me realise that even if you are young, you can dream big and be kind and brave. My character of young Atal shows that even the greatest leaders started as kids with big hearts and dreams. It is about believing in yourself and going after your true beliefs.”

Watch Vyom Thakkar as young Atal in &TV’s ‘ATAL’ airing at 8:00 pm, every Monday to Friday!
