The Hollywood Reporter has verified that Daniel Kaluuya won’t appear in the Black Panther sequel. The news was initially released by Rotten Tomatoes.

W’Kabi, the best friend of T’Challa/Black Panther, and Okoye, portrayed by Danai Gurira, who is anticipated to reprise her role in the sequel Wakanda Forever, were played by Kaluuya and Jordan Peele’s suspenseful Nope.

Due to scheduling issues with Peele’s film, which is scheduled to hit cinemas this month, Kaluuya informed Rotten Tomatoes that he had to withdraw.

After actor Chadwick Boseman passed away from colon cancer in August 2020, the production of Black Panther 2 was beset by difficulties, forcing Marvel and the producers to completely rethink the idea. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic and numerous actors testing positive for the virus while filming, the movie was further delayed. Star Letitia Wright was hurt in August 2021 during a Boston-based stunt scene was being shot on location. After filming as much as they could without Wright, the Wakanda Forever team ended production in late November, allowing her to recover at her London home.

After the CDC imposed regulations requiring all non-immigrant and non-citizen air visitors to the U.S. to be fully immunized, Wright expressed anti-COVID vaccination opinions, creating fears about her return. However, Wright finally returned to the Atlanta location and production started in January. Winston Duke, who played M’Baku, was reportedly taking on a larger position in the Panther lore at the time.
