As the second wave of deadly corona virus is hitting hard on India, reportedly nearly 2 lakh fresh cases were recorded on Wednesday. The number of cases has almost doubled in last 10 days. A total of 1,99,620 new cases was recorded.

In lieu of the same, actor Farhan Akhtar urged everyone to stay indoors. He took to twitter and tweeted, “People asking why should we stay in when political rallies and religious gatherings are going on should remember the schoolyard argument re peer pressure ‘just because someone jumps off a cliff…’ #StayHome #staysafe.”

 Maharashtra is the worst affected state in the country. In Mumbai city the cases recorded in last 24 hours are 9925 new cases and 54 deaths. The state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced a strict ‘Janta Curfew’ in the state to break the chain of the deadly virus. The curfew has been imposed from 8pm on April 14 and remains imposed till 7am on May 1.

Meanwhile, the government recently announced that the shoots of films, ads, TV serials to remain halted in the state as per the protocol of the curfew and to curb the novel corona virus cases. 

Talking about Farhan Akhtar’s professional front, the actor will be seen in the role of a boxer in the film ‘Toofan’. The film also features Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak and Husaain Dalal and is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. He also has movies like Yudhra, Sharmaji Namkeen, Phone Bhoot in the pipeline.
