By the end of 2023, the Tata group’s Air India will launch new uniforms for its staff. From the frontline to the cockpit crew and security staff, it will all be designed by him.

In a public statement by the airline, “This is a further step in the manifestation of Air India’s new global brand identity as part of its ongoing modernization program. Air India expects to commence rolling out the new look for its uniformed employees by the end of 2023.”

Manish Malhotra tells us, “It’s an absolute honor to collaborate with Air India, our national flying ambassadors. Reimagining their uniforms is the onset of a journey of joy and collaboration, and I am excited to embark on it. Our shared ideology is simple yet profound; to evolve without erasing, to modernize without forgetting. Together, we aim to intertwine tradition with the future, crafting uniforms where comfort meets authenticity, wrapped in timeless elegance.”

The designer and his team have begun meetings with the staff and conducting discussions as to what their needs are. Air India has a mission to transform in the next 5 years and become a world class airline with an Indian heart.
