The Armor Wars project from Marvel Studios has been altered, and what was supposed to be a series for Disney+ will now be reworked as a feature picture.

The decision effectively moves the game further down the production schedule.

According to sources, the studio was dedicated to telling the tale properly and recognised that a feature was a better fit for the film throughout that process. It’s meant for a theatrical distribution, much like every other Marvel film.

Although it was mentioned earlier this month at Disney’s D23 Expo when Cheadle joined Marvel Studios producer and president Kevin Feige on stage and unveiled a logo for what was then billed as being a six-episode event series, nothing is known about the plot of Armor Wars. In late 2020, Feige initially revealed his intentions for Armor Wars.

The renowned Iron Man comic book storyline that appeared in 1987 and 1988 is where the name Armor Wars comes from. With artwork by Mark Bright and a story by David Michelinie and Bob Layton, it addressed the issue of Iron Man’s highly developed technology getting into the wrong hands. Many different kinds of armour were intended to be displayed in the live-action series.

The MCU series Secret Invasion, which also stars Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn and is set to premiere in 2023, will continue to be Cheadle’s next Marvel appearance. He has portrayed the role since Iron Man 2 in 2010.

Marvel has previously changed the course of a title’s development in this manner. Before the management team decided to make the concept into a Disney+ series, Hawkeye was first planned as a film. Marvel has thus far only had its movies in cinemas.
